Welcome
Being "just Christians"
What does being "just Christians" mean?
It
means trying to be like the first century church in work, worship and
teaching. They were just Christians - why can't we be the same?
It
means being an independent and autonomous church, not part of any
denominational structure - just like the Christians in the New
Testament.
It
means worshiping like the people in the New Testament did.
It
means believing and practicing what the New Testament church believed
and practiced.
It
means an end to "hyphenated Christianity" where some human-centered name
or creedal position is attached to the term Christian. We hear this all
the time: "I'm this kind of Christian" or "I'm a --------- Christian."
Where do we read about that kind of thinking in the New Testament? Why
can't we be just Christians like in the New Testament?
In short, it means being what the first believers were:
just Christians.
We are dedicated to that ideal. We just want to study the
scriptures and see New Testament Christianity freshly, in purity and simplicity.
If that thought intrigues you, then browse our site, and then stop in to visit.
You'll find the quest for "just Christians" to be tremendously challenging and
rewarding. We pray we'll be a help to you along the way.
“I
appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you
agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you
may be perfectly united in mind and thought.”
–1Corinthians 1:10

Are You Worshipping God
In Spirit And In Truth?

Preface
This Bible study course is
written with the hope of helping us to worship God in the way that is
acceptable to the Lord so we can go to heaven when this life is over.
Jesus says in John 4:24, "God is a Spirit and they
that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth." The
reason I have used such a large number of scriptures throughout this
course is to point to the truth of what God has said on how He is to be
worshipped, and not what I say. For us to worship God in spirit and in
truth we must make sure we obey all of His commandments as given by Him
in the Bible on how He is to be worshipped. If we fail to follow God’s
instructions it becomes sin, we will be lost and be punished along with
Satan in eternal torment.
There is much confusion in
the religious world today concerning worship. There are more than 600
different religious denominational churches, each with different
doctrines and beliefs, who are attempting to worship God in ways
contrary to what He says in the Bible. As we sing, pray, give, partake
of the communion, and as the gospel sermon is preached, it must be done
according to God’s instructions in the Bible.
Unless otherwise noted,
all scripture quotations are from the New King James Version of the
Bible, Copyright © by Thomas Nelson Inc. I have bolded certain words
and phrases for emphasis. All scripture quotations are in
red.
This course is divided into
twenty-four (24) lessons. After each lesson you are asked to answer
several interactive multiple choice and true-false questions concerning
what you have just studied. The correct answer is found in the
scripture reference that is listed with the questions. Click on the
answer of your choice and a dialog box will appear telling you if your
answer is correct or wrong and why. It is my hope and prayer that the
scriptures pointed out in this course will help you to worship God in
spirit and in truth.
